Years of Purpose
Three years ago, Evans and a team of friends saw a problem that was too important to ignore.
They had worked with counselling and rehabilitation facilities and kept seeing the same gap: people struggling with addiction and mental health challenges needed more than treatment. They needed care that respected their dignity, their families, and their journey.
Instead of simply talking about the gap, they decided to build.
That decision became Humura Recovery Centre.
Today, Evans is building a facility that is emerging as one of the trusted mental health and recovery service providers in Western Uganda.
But the real story is not the facility.
It is the people behind it.
Clients are walking away with something that cannot easily be measured on a balance sheet: renewed hope, confidence, personal growth, and the belief that recovery is possible.
And that is what makes Evans' journey worth spotlighting.
Because entrepreneurship is not always about discovering the next big technology.
Sometimes, it is about seeing a problem that affects real people, understanding it deeply, and having the courage to build a better solution.
The founder's journey starts with a problem. The impact begins when you decide to do something about it.
Today, we spotlight Evans, founder and builder behind Humura Recovery Centre.
At Joshtecs, we want to tell the stories of founders building solutions that matter.
“A story of purpose, courage, and impact how Evans turned a critical gap in mental health and addiction care into Humura Recovery Centre, helping people rediscover hope and believe in recovery.”
